Abstract：The self-imcompatibility line 87158, an easy bolting type was used to study the effect of shading in seedling stage on bolting and flowering.The results showed that flower buds had differentiated when the seedling was in four-leaf stage or six-leaf stage. The flower buds differentiated 7days later the control when two leaf seedlings were shaded for six hours everyday. Shading treatment delayed the time of bolting and flowering in Chinese cabbage.
