Abstract：Laboratory and field trials were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of 19 insecticides,belonging to organophosphorus,synthetic pyrethroid,carbamate,insect growth regulators,antibiotic etc. ,to control Plutella xylostella . The results showed that 14 commonly used insecticides were generally incapable of controlling P. xylostella in Hangzhou China. Avermectin,fipronil,chlorfenappyr,Bt and diafenthiuron were most effective to control P. xylostella.
