Abstract：The chilling tolerance of five wild eggplant and six cultivars were tested, three wild eggplants with much higher chilling tolerance were selected and used as rootstocks of eggplant. The results indicated that the grafted seedlings had much higher chilling tolerance than the non-grafted one. Protective enzymes activities such as SOD,POD and CAT in grafted seedlings increased rapidly than those in non-grafted one under low temperature stress.
