Abstract：Soft rot in Allium chinense G.Don is caused by Erwinia carotovora subsp.carotovora.The preliminary infection sources are diseased bulb and pathogen contained soil.The bacteria infect host plant through wound and then cause the tissue rot,even death.Artificial inoculation results showed that the bacteria could infect 14 plant species belonging to 7 families.This disease could be effectively controlled by using 24 % Streptomycin,25 % Bismerthiazol and 45 % Ambam at the initial infection stage.
