Abstract:The distribution of genes related to sex determination in cucumber germplasm of different sex pheynotypes was analyzed by specific PCR primers based on the sequences of CS-ACS1G,CS-ACO2,CS-ACO3,CS-ERS and CS-ETR2.The results showed that five genes could be detected in all cucumber materials.It meant that these five genes were not specific to the gynoecius plants.ACC synthase gene of 1 124 bp was cloned from gynoecious cucumber(G5224).BLAST analysis revealed that the sequence was similar to the sequence of CS-ACS1G gene(Trebitsh,1997),and 99 % sequence of them was homologous.Our results are in contradiction with some other researchers that CS-ACS1G gene existed only in gynoecious cucumbers.
