A New Semibush Summer Squash F1 Hybrid —‘Donghu No.2’

Abstract：‘Donghu No.2’is a new earlymaturing and highyielding semi bush summer squash F1 hybrid bred by crossing white skin inbred line 02-8A from‘Dongyu’as female parent and green skin -inbred line 9601-4B from foreign and home hybrid as male parent.It is an early mature variety with strong growth vigor at late development stage.The fruit is long cylindrical with length of 23-25 cm and diameter of 6-7 cm.The fruit skin is light green and very glossy.The plant has stronger resistance to viruses,downy mildew and powdery mildew than‘Zaoqingyidai’．It yields 67.5-75.0 t·hm-2 in open field and 90 t·hm-2 in greenhouse.It is suitable to be cultivated in open field and greenhouse in Northern China.
