Abstract： The change of physiology and biochemistry of eggplant stock seedlings under chilling stress,and the relationship between the change and cold tolerance were studied using scion seedlings of Jinong 2000 as control. The results indicated that stock seedlings were more sensitive after one day under the temperature 10 ℃(day)/1 ℃(night), chilling injury index and soluble protein content rapidly enhanced; but root activity, soluble sugar content, chlorophyll content and photosynthesis rate quickly decreased.
