Abstract:This experiment studied the effect of inoculating arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi at different stages on cucumber yield and nutrient quality in plastic film greenhouse. The results showed that the yield of cucumber inoculated with Glomus intraradicese(GI) at seed sowing and transplanting stages could be increased by 54% and 34%,respectively as compared with the non-inoculated control. Inoculation at seed sowing stage, the chlorophyll content in cucumber leaves was significantly increased by 14.7%-17.7%,compared with that of the control. The nitrate contents of cucumber inoculated at seed sowing and seedling transplanting stages were decreased by 9.4% and 15.0%,respectively comparing with the control. While their total sugar contents were increased by 8.9% and 7.1%,respectively comparing with the control. The crude protein content in cucumber inoculated at seedling transplanting stage increased by 4.6% as compared with the control. The VC content in cucumber inoculated both at seed sowing and seedling transplanting stages were increased significantly. These results indicated that GI inoculum might improve cucumber growth, increase its yield and improve its nutrient quality.
