Abstract:Bolting tolerance and stuffing characteristics of 11 pakchoi varieties transplanted by seedlings in winter and spring were studied. The results showed:‘Chunyou No.1’,‘Chunyou No.2’,‘Jinglv No.7’were never bolting,‘Siyueman’,‘Wuyueman’ and ‘Yangzhouqing’had strong bolting tolerance. While‘Hanxiao’,‘Shulv’,‘Jingguan No.1’,‘Suzhouqing’and‘Lvyangqing’ were easily bolting in spring. They were not suitable for cultivation in winter and spring.‘Siyueman’,‘Chunyou No.1’and ‘Jinglv No.7’are suitable for stuffing,‘Chunyou No.1’and‘Jinglv No.7’can be sown in early winter and harvested in early spring, while‘Siyueman’is better be sown in late winter. The best stuffing pakchoi is 200 g per-single plant. The best ratio between fresh weight of leaf and stalk is about 4∶10.
