Abstract：The photosynthetic characteristics of grafted and non-grafted eggplants were exhibited in the paper.The results showed that the chlorophyll contents of grafted eggplants were significantly higher than that of non-grafted one.The diurnal changing patterns of photosynthetic rate(Pn),intercelluar CO2 concentration(Ci),transpiration rate(Tr)and stomatal conductance(Gs)in grafted eggplants were the same as the non-grafted one,but their diurnal average values were significantly higher than that of the non-grafted one.At the same time,grafting decreased the light compensation and CO2 compensation points,and increased the light saturation and CO2 saturation points.Therefore,the efficiency of light and CO2 utilization of eggplants was also improved.However,effects of grafting on photosynthetic characteristics of eggplants differed in different root stocks.
