Abstract：Wampee onion‘Jinxing’is a new F1 hybrid developed by crossing male sterile line with a male parent.Both the female parent(also called male sterile line 59A)and its maintainer line 59B originated from a Japanese variety‘かいづか Zaosheng’.The male parent came from the inbred line 93-7-3-6-9-2-1-6,which is the self-pollinated progeny of a variety‘Gangcong 841’.‘Jinxing’has middleearly maturity.The period from sowing to bulb harvesting is about 240 days.The plant height is 65-70 cm，with dark green and 9-10 functional leaves.It has round golden-brown bulb with 8-10 cm transverse diameter and 7-9 cm vertical diameter.The average weight of single bulb is 370-430 g.The white consolidated interior smells mild and sweet pungency.Its yield is about 105 t·hm-2.It is suitable for cultivation in the open field of most part of China.
