Abstract In high altitude and cold,Xining area of Qinghai plateau,a soybean variety,Dongnong 40 began pod setting 70 days after emergence. The pod weight per plant reach the highest 100 days after emergence. It was suitable time to pick vegetable green pods. The highest yield,8.32t,of green pods was obtained from the density of 600000 plants per ha.
