Abstract Milong is a new muskmelon F 1 hybrid bred by crossing two inbreed lines —— 9-8 (female) and F-Y115 (male). 9-8 was selected from the progeny of an English green house muskmelon variety Earl’s crossed by an American variety honey dew by repeated pedigree selection. Milong is tolerant to high temperature and high humidity,and high resistant to powdery mildew of melon. The development phase of the fruit is about 50 days.
