Abstract Chengjiang No.3 (83-7) has both cold and heat resista nce. It is about 7-10 days earlier in maturity than that of Zhijiang 28-2. Its pod has average length of 60cm，average weight of 25-30g，good quality and high marketable percentage. The average yield is about 23t· hm-2.
