Abstract Yangchunhuang is the result of several generation system selection from crossing Gangcong No. 2 with Hanchengjizao. The growing period is 220 days and 15 - 18 days earlier than Gangcong No. 2. The bulb is yellow in skin with lustre. The inner squama is white,slight pungent and sweet. Its yield is 61.5 t · hm-2. It is suitable for cultivation in the region of Yangtze River.
