Abstract This paper studied the effects of bagging on quality of muskmelon by using plastic bags of 7 colors and 2 kinds of white paper bags.The result showed as follows:bagging improved muskmelon appearance obviously,and increased fruit weight and firmness.Bagging also increased VC content by different degrees,except the black plastic bag;most of the bags(except the blue plastic bag)could increase the contents of fructose,sucrose,soluble sugar and total sugar.Bagging decreased the content of soluble protein.Its effect on total soluble solids content was not obvious.White and red plastic bags and vitriol paper bag had better effect in improving the flavor of muskmelon.
