Abstract Xiangzazaohong is a new eggplant F_1 hybrid developed by crossing inbred line 92147 from Nanxianziyuanqie with inbred line 96267 from Hanzhongziqie. The fruit is ovate shape with purple skin, 250 g in average weight, and has good commercial quality. It can be harvested in 35 days after transplanting. It has stronger resistance to Phytophthora rot and bacterial rot than Xiangzaoqie. The average yield is 45.0-67.5 t·hm~-2.
