Abstract The resistance of the Chinese kale and the offspring of interspecific hybrids of Chinese kale x Flowering Chinese cabbage to Turnip mosaic virus ( TuMV) were studied. The results were as follows: Chinese kale possessed nearly immune resistance to TuMV-Youcai Strain in Guangzhou. The selective effect of resistance of backcross hybrids to TuMV-Youcai Strain were influenced tremendously by the backcross parents.
