Abstract To study the growth rule and tillering regularity of Allium chinensis, the growth dynamics experiment with local variety‘Shengmijiaotou’was performed in Jiangxi Province. The results showed that the fresh mass of plant, roots, bulb and leaves, the plant height, leaf and root numbers, and the length of the biggest leaf, etc. all gradually increased along with its growth, showing a growth dynamics with a single peak curve, and the increasing speed of the aforementioned items were the highest at the bulb growth stage. Tillering of 3-4 grades begun at the bulb growth stage, and the relationship between tillers number in one piece of bulb(X)and tillering grades(n)was X=2n. The fresh mass of bulb had significant positive correlation with leaf numbers per plant, leaves fresh mass and tillers number, had very significant positive correlation with root numbers per plant, roots fresh mass and plant fresh mass.
