Abstract The types and content of amino acids in Flammulina velutipes were measured and compared between wild species and cultivars. The results showed that the total contents of amino acids and free amino acids in wild F. velutipes were higher than in cultivars. Especially these 2 contents in F. velutipes grown in Ulmus pumila were the highest, followed by that grown in Broussonetia papyrifera and Erythrina variegata.
