Abstract Taking‘Zhongnong No.?26’cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.)as experiment material, and tranditional peat and vermiculite media as contrast, this experiment studies the effects of different mixture ratios of caragana and mushroom residue(CMR)on media physicochemical properties and cucumber seedling quality. The results showed that rational mixture ratio can meet the requirement of seedling culture in physical and chemical properties|and make the quality of cucumber seedling better than that of the traditional peat substrates. The media B2(caragana and mushroom residue ratio is 3 V∶2 V,alternative 60% peat)and D4(caragana and mushroom residue ratio is 1 V∶4 V,alternative 20% peat) can significantly improve cucumber seedling quality. Therefore, media B2 could be widely used for cucumber seedling cultivation in the area where peat is insufficient.
