Abstract In order to determine the nitrogen concentration of nutrient solution suitable for hydroponic Chinese chives(Allium tuberosum Rottlerspreng)7 levels of Nitrogen concentration(4,6,8,10,12,14,16 mmol·L-1)were set up to study the relevant product by using a new type of hydroponic system developed by Vegetable Research Center of Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences. The growth index, individual dry and fresh weight
and yields, physiological characteristics and nutritional quality were studied. The results showed that 8-12 mmol·L-1 nitrogen concentration of nutrient solution are suitable for hydroponic Chinese chives. Among them,10 mmol·L-1 Nitrogen concentration treatment showed the best effect on hydroponic Chinese chives growth index and yields; and 12 mmol·L-1 nitrogen concentration treatment showed the best quality of hydroponic Chinese chives.
