Abstract Taking a wettish-cultivated water dropwort〔Oenanthe stolonifera(Roxb.)Wall.〕new line G06-01 as experimental material,we compared the effects of potassium and planting density on growth of flowering stalk used for propagation. The results showed that the development and germinating rate of axillary bud in unelongated stem of maternal plants were promoted by applying potassium fertilizer, the number of flowering stalk was increased and the axillary bud grew well, the yield was raised in the same planting manner. The average diameter of flowering stalks and their yields were tending to go down at the same time.
