Progress in Molecular Biology Research on Cucumber Downy Mildew

Abstract：Cucumber downy mildew is a worldwide disease caused by Pseudoperonospora cubensis. It is known around the world that more than 70 cucumber（Cucumis sativus L.）producing countries were under its hazards. This paper expounds the research progress made in the field of molecular biology in resistance to cucumber downy mildew from resistance genetics, construction of molecular marker and linkage map, separation related to resistance to downy mildew genes. The paper also discusses about the existing problems in molecular level research, and outlooks the future research orientation.
