Abstract：Seed traits are closely related to plant growth and development，yield and quality
of product organ，and environmental adaptability of plant．It is important to investigate thoroughly
the inheritance and development regulation mechanism of seed traits for improving crop germplasm，
increasing yield and solving the problem of biological energy s ource．In recent years，great progress has
been made in studying Cucurbit seed traits．Studies on inheritance，development regulation mechanism
and molecular biology of seed traits were reviewed in this paper. In addition，problems existing in
current research were discussed and future research orientation was prospected.
