‘Modilong’is a new wax gourd F₁ hybrid developed by crossing‘D6’ as female parent
and‘L2’as male parent．It is of medium maturity．Its fruit is of long projectile shape with deep green and
almost smooth peel．The fruit is about 90 cm in length，20 cm in width，and 6-7 cm in flesh thickness．
The single fruit weight is 15-35 kg．It has strong stress resistance，high yield and tolerance to storage
and transportation．It can yield about 120-225 t·hm^-2．It is suitable for cultivation throughout China，
especially for the Yangtze River Valley in spring and fall，and southern and southwest China as vegetable for
transportation to northern China．
