This paper conducted investigation at a continuous cropping land for many years in Xiao County
of Anhui Province on the main agronomic traits and disease level indexes of Alternaria leaf blight during 3 growth
periods(T1,T2 and T3,70,90,110 days after sowing)of 160 carrot accessions from abroad and at home.
The results showed that the disease level indexes of Alternaria leaf blight increased gradually with the growth of
carrot and there were significant differences between the 3 periods. The average disease level indexes were 0.9,
1.8 and 2.1,respectively. Based on T3 index,160 accessions could be divided into 5 groups, and group I had the
strongest resistance including 21 accessions. Their disease level indexes were 0.25-0.75. The upper ground main
agronomic traits of group I were also significantly better than those of the other groups.
