Abstract:Garlic is a worldwide affinal drug and diet plant.Its nutrition and medicinal components,
and functions have been widely concerned and studied.This paper reviewed the edible and medicinal value,
functional components and pharmacological roles of garlic from traditional medical practice to modern medical
experiment at different lay and diamentionality.The paper also discussed about the rational exploitation and
utilization of garlic,and prospect of drug and diet industry.
