Abstract：‘Baitiannuo 209’is a new fresh edible sweet and waxy corn F1 hybrid bred by crossing inbred
line‘LN38’as female parent and inbred line‘LN205’as male parent．It is of medium-early maturity．
It takes about 83 days from sowing to fresh ear harvesting．It is of semi-compact plant type．It is 217 cm in
plant height and 105 cm in ear position height．Its ear is of cylindrical shape，19.1 cm in length and 4.5 cm
in ear diameter．There are 14 rows in each ear and 33 grains in one line．Its grain is white in color．The
proportion of sweet and waxy grain is 1∶3．The amylopectin content takes 97.5% of the total starch content．
The hide trimmings rate is 8.1%．It can yield fresh ear about 13.5 t · hm-2．It is resistant to large spot disease
and medium resistant to small spot disease and sheath blight．It is suitable to be planted in Jiangsu Province and
surrounding areas with same ecological conditions．
