Heterosis of Node of the First Female Flower and Number of Female Flowers in Bitter Gourd (Momordica charan-tica L. )

Abstract:Eight inbred lines of green bitter gourd were divided into two groups and 15 crosses were made, heterosis of node of 1st female flower and number of female flowers at earlier stage were investigated. The results showed that node of 1st female flower of 6 crosses had negative heterosis over mid-parent,and 13 crosses had negative heterosis superior parent, and 4 crosses was lower than small parent; number of female flowers of 5 corsses had positive heterosis over mid-parent, and 4 crosses had positive heteros...
