Abstract：Mengqie No.4 is a new eggplant F 1 hybrid developed by cross 86D01 1 1 1 (♀) with 79B01 2 2 2 (♂). The first blossom happens in 7-8th knot of plant. The fruit is nearly globosity,deep pruple in color,shiny,and tight flesh,and suitable for storage. Average fruit weight is about 400-500g. The production is 67.5t·hm -2 . It is strong against the disease of yellow and shrink leaf. It is suitable for planting in open field.
