Abstract：Mulching with straw in ginger field could make ginger leaves thicker,content of chlorophyll lower than those of shaded ginger,and increased the ability of adapting strong light. Though the leaves of ginger in naked field also changed,the photosynthetic rate was lower than that in mulching and shading field,because ginger in naked field was subjected to serious stress. The photosynthetic rate and its diurnal changes were almost the same under both mulching and shading conditions.
