Abstract：Xiangyan No.16 is a new F 1 hybrid developed by crossing inbred line 5904 from a landrace in Hunan province and inbred line 8216 from Hexiniujiao in Changsha. It is late maturity,good resistance to diseases and gets harvest in 55 days after transplanting,with long fruit,thick wall,good storage characteristic and 45g per fruit. Its yield is 51.2t·hm -2 generally which is 15% higher than that of CK.
