Abstract：Mengqie No.3’is a F 1 hybrid of crossing two inbred lines,H 2 1 1 and A 1 1 1. It is cha racterized by vigorous growth,fine,early maturity,high yield and resistance to disease. It was 6 days earlier than‘Haiziqie’. It is 29.3% higher in early yield and 21.0% higher in total yield than that of the popular cultivar. The average yield is about 67.5t·hm -2 . The hybrid is well suitable for open culture and early culture of protected fields in north China.
