Abstract:The path analysis in this paper showed that high CO 2 concentration of root zone under the plastic film mulch was the major factor which limited the activities of roots and leaves of tomatoes. Perforated film mulch improved soil aeration,decreased the CO 2 concentration of root zone,remarkably delayed senescence of the plants,accelerated the photosynthesis of leaves and supply capacity of roots,and eventually resulted in high early yield and total yield.
