Review and Prospect of Space Mutation Application in Pepper Breeding

Abstract：Space mutation breeding technology, also named space- flight mutation breeding, is a new breeding technology, combining spaceflight technology with modern biotechnology and traditional breeding technology. From present status and research method of pepper（Capsicum annuum L.）spaceflight mutation breeding, this paper expounds the research progress and achievements gained at home and abroad; discusses about the problems existing in present space mutation breeding in China; and prospects the future for its application in future pepper breeding.
