‘Xizihongqie’is a new eggplant F₁ hybrid developed by crossing‘ E604-8-4-2-8-3-2-1-5’as
female parent and‘ E631-9-1-3-6-1-2-5-2’as male parent. This variety grows vigorously and has good fruit
setting ability. The fruit is of long and even shape，32-35 cm in length，and about 2.5 cm in width. The single
fruit weight is 100 g. The fruit peel is purple red in color with good commodity. It can yield over 57.0 t · hm^-2. It is
medium resistant to Verticillium wilt and bacterial wilt. It is suitable to be cultivated in winter and spring，and in
early spring in protected fields at areas，where people like purple red eggplant in the middle and lower reaches of
the Yangtze River.
