Abstract：‘Baimi No.9’is a new small-fruit pumpkin F1 hybrid of early maturity，developed by crossing
inbred line‘TYMB4C1’as female parent and inbred line‘NBF2’as male parent．Its whole growth period is
about 100 days．The plant has strong growth vigor．Its fruits are mainly set on the main lord tendril．The first
female flower sets on the 12-14th node．Its successive fruit setting ability is strong．The fruit is of dumbbell
shape with shallow ridges on peel．The melon is about 30 cm in length，10.8-12.4 cm in width．Tender melon
is dark green in color，and ripen one is orange brown in color．Melon flesh is orange in coor，and about 2 cm
in thickness．Its texture is fine and silky．The soluble solid content is 17.70%．The reductive sugar content is 3.6
g · kg-1．Its quality is excellent．Both matured and tender melons can be harvested．The single melon weight
is about 2.0 kg．Its resistance to powdery mildew，downy mildew and virus disease in fields is equivalent to
that of the contrast‘Gailiangmiben’．It can yield about 60 t · hm-2．This variety is suitable for planting in
Henan Province and Huang-Huai River basin．
