Abstract: ‘Dongfang No.1’is a new large-fruit type watermelon F1 hybrid bred by crossing inbred line‘DWP203’as female parent and inbred line‘DFC108’as male parent．It is of mid-late maturity．Its whole growth period is about 100 days and the fruit development period is about 35 days．The fruit is of oval shape，and pericarp is dark green in color with irregular jagged stripes．The fruit pericarp is about 1.2 cm thickness．The flesh is pink in color with delicate，pulp fiber residue less．The central soluble solids content is about 11.1%，and edge soluble solids content is about 6.9%．The single fruit weight is about 7 kg．It can yield about 123 t · hm^-2．This variety has medium resistance to watermelon fusarium wilt．It is suitable for open field cultivation in Shandong，Anhui，Jiangsu，Ningxia，Gansu regions．
