Abstract：Shaoziheiganlan is bred by crossing BL-1 line derived from Tianwan Black Beauty as female parent, with few-seed line Xs-2 derived from Japanese mini-fruit type watermelon as male parent. It is extremely early maturity hybrid and characterized by black rind, olivary fruit with about 50 seeds. Sugar content in the centre is over 12.5 %.
