Abstract Influences of low temperature and poor light on growth and photosynthesis of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) seedling were studied in phytotron. Results showed that the increment of stem length,leaf expanding and net photosynthesis rate were reduced under the stress of low temperautre and poor light,but root vigor was not significantly influenced by the stress. The influence of low temperature was more significant than poor light stress. The responses were different between varieties.
