Abstract F 1 hybrid Lubaoshi of bitter squash (Momordica charantia L.) was bred with inbred line a6-1-1(pistillate parent) and inbred line a2-1(pollen parent). It has conical fruits. It can be harvested 3-7 days earlier than control Yingyin and Suixin No.2 in spring. Its yield is over 45t·hm -2,over 15% higher than the two control cultivars. It is tolerant to anthracnose and powdery mildew, and can be cultivated in both open field and plastic funnel in spring and autumn in South China.
