Abstract Butterbur is a kind of vegetable with high economic value. The petioles and tubers were cultured on MS+2mg/L BA media to produce callus and shoots. When the shoots grow to 2～3cm high,they were transplanted on 1/2 MS+0.1mg/L NAA rooting media. By using the leaf blade or petiole of regenerated buds as explant,callus and buds were produced more quickly.
