Abstract Laboratory and field trials were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of organophosphorus,synthetic pyrethroid,carbamate,insect growth regulators,antibiotic,and botanical insecticides to control Spodoptera litura. Chlorphyrifos,β-cyfluthrin,methomyl,and chlorfluazuron were most effective,and should be used in rotation to control Spodoptera litura.
