Abstract In order to clarify the influence and role of different light intensities of red LED during dark period on plant seedling growth and environmental adaptability, the experiment took 3 kinds of Solanaceous vegetables:tomato(Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.),pepper(Capsicum annuum L.)and eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)as material, adopted floating nursery plate to culture seedlings under the conditions of plant nursing workshop, and studied the effects of different light intensities of LED with 650 nm wavelength as supplemental lighting during dark period on the growth, antioxidant enzyme system and non-enzyme system of tomato, pepper and eggplant seedlings.Compared to the contrast, every treatment had improved in different degrees the biomass and healthy index of the seedlings of tomato, pepper and eggplant and at the same time, promoted the seedling activities of SOD,CAT and the contents of flavonoid, total phenols, and improved seedling adaptability to environment. Thus,it is an effective way to adjust the light environment during plant nursing period.
