Abstract In this study,mature fruit surface glossiness of 76 accessions of different ecological types of cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.)were tested by glossmeter(HYD-09).The results showed that there were obvious differences in fruit surface glossness between varieties and types of cucumber germplasm.The changing amplitude was ranged from 1.32-4.92 Gs.Three accessions of germplasm with glossy pericarp were screened out.Their gloss value were over 4.60 Gs.And 9 germplasm with gloomy pericarp and gloss value below 1.60 Gs were selected.
