Abstract To identify the effects of temperature on the infection of Beauveria bassiana Cananda No.1
isolate against the tobacco whitefly, Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius),the spore germination rate, mycelial growth
speed, changes in activities of extracellular proteinase and chitinase were observed and studied under 5 different
temperature conditions(19,22,25,28,31℃). The results showed that the isolate Cananda No.1 owned
the maximum parameter values and the highest virulence against B. tabaci at temperature of 28 ℃ . The spore
germination rate, mycelial growth speed, activities of extracellular proteinase and chitinase, and virulence against B.
Tabaci were significantly reduced when the temperature was higher or lower than 28 ℃ .
