Abstract Taking Chinese cabbage〔 Brassica campestris L. ssp. pekinensis(Lour.)Olsson〕line 03B9
with high sensitivity and C24 with high resistance to black sesame spot as experimental materials, this paper
studies the effect of different copper concentration treatments on black sesame spot, and total phenol content
and PPO activity. The results showed that the sesame spots of the 2 lines were markedly increased as the copper
concentration increased, and the occurrance degree of 03B9 was significantly higher than that of C24. During the
copper treatments, the total phenol content,PPO activity in the petiole of line C24 were higher than that in line
03B9 with 25.6% and 77.0%,respectively. The preliminary tests showed that under hydroponic conditions, the
occurrence of black sesame spot was promoted by the concentration of exogenous copper, the degree of disorder was
related to the copper treatment concentration. Meanwhile, the total phenol content and PPO activity were influenced
by copper.
