Abstract Under greenhouse condition, tomato seedlings were inoculated with 2 different arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inoculants,BF(mycorrhiza for plants)and VT(mycorrhiza for vegetables). The growth, photosynthetic and physiological indexes were investigated. The results showed that both VT and BF could infect tomato roots in different degrees. The infection rates were 78.3% and 66.4%,respectively 35 days after inoculation. The plant height, stem diameter, dry and fresh weights, root system viability, chlorophyll content, photosynthetic rate of tomato seedling inoculated with AMF were all higher than those without inoculation. There were remarkable differences among the tomato seedlings inoculated with VT with the control. Comprehensive analysis indicated that inoculation of VT showed better growth-promotion effect on tomato seedlings.
