Abstract Brassicaceae vegetable crops hold a significant position in Chinese vegetable production and market supply.DNA fingerprinting has emerged as an effective method for studying the genetic diversity of plant germplasm resources, seed purity, and other related aspects. In recent years, this technology has matured considerably, enabling rapid and accurate species authentication, identification, classification. This paper summarizes the application in genetic breeding of Brassicaceae vegetables including variety identification, analysis of genetic diversity and heterozygous groups. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the advancements made in DNA fingerprinting technology for Brassicaceae vegetables while discussing the challenges associated with its implementation in breeding.
